Frenetic Aesthetics Publication

The project is a publication design of academic studies about horror film including the main publication and finished curated art direction. The publication focuses on the subgenre of a horror film called 'observational horror'.

The design is dark and moody with a touch of digital distortion blended with colourizing. Linear scratches are created across the publication to indicate the darkness and fracture in terms of human's experiences. In addition, to enhance the concept, half of the title is hidden on the book cover, which can see by combining the book sleeve. Everyone, including those who scare of horror movies, can flick over the book without being scared and can even trigger their curiosity.
